4/30/2024 0 Comments 2008 yamaha ecu flashWhatever it was crunched one whole corner of the ECU. Of course the padding I had in there (multiple layers of cardboard around multiple layers of bubble wrap) was all thrown into one side of the box and one layer of cardboard (the box) was between my ECU & whatever went through it. I open up the package & whoever packaged it to send it back to me apparently threw it in the box without a thought or care in the world. I'm thinking it'll be OK because I packaged it in a way to avoid damage to the ECU in case something like this happened. Thing is, when it finally comes in the mail right away I see a hole in the side of the box & my heart sinks. They claim quick turn-around but it ended up taking over a week to get it back.no biggie. When that FINALLY got sorted I sent them my ECU. For about three weeks I waited to get details back from them on what affect some options would have on either things I already had installed or planned on installing in the near future. For whatever reason their negative reviews aren't making it to public forums, so despite hearing about negative experiences from several friends/racers/techs, based on all the good I was reading online I decided to go with them.įirst red flag should have been horrible communication. Last summer I sent my ECU to SBU for a flash for a moderately modified '07 R1. Old thread I know, but since I saw the topic thought I'd share my experience. In my opinion our experience and constant push for improvements has netted a superior end result and most customers seem to agree. We've spent countless race and track hours perfecting the flash, including some of the finer settings and we provide our customers with the same flash used on our race bikes. The end result is a smoother bike that typically produces more power throughout the rev range. The big emphasis was on ignition mapping and throttle mapping. Not just fuel mapping, which is going to be the one thing that can vary from bike to bike. What sets us apart is the fact that we've created our own mapping from the ground up. Typically there is a lot of room for improvement. ![]() This will indeed remove restrictions and in some cases alter ignition mapping. Many ECU flashing services involve a widely available software/hardware package and use of their generic maps. ![]() Is the Flash-Tune interface user friendly or is it going to be difficult for the average user? I would need to disable both the Exup and YCCI, is there a check box in the program to disable these when you flash it?Īctually, there is far more to flashing an ECU than simply derestricting it, if you're trying to get the most out of the process. Superbike Unlimited is way cheaper but Flash-Tune offers the ability to change settings at home.įlash-Tune doesn't unrestrict throttle opening to 1:1 but it is better than stock below is a map from them that shows the opening at each RPM, I would be interested to see a Map from Superbike Unlimited.Īlso if I import my Map into the ECU and get rid of the power commander how do I hook up a quick shifter directly to the ECU, there are no additional plugins on the ECU is there a procedure for pinning an adapter into the existing wire harness plug? Does anyone have any experience with both of these companies or can any vendors chime in on why I should get one over the other?
